On Saturday, TMZ reported that historical poet and author Maya Angelou had fallen ill and was taken to a L.A. hospital. The rumor spread like wildfire over the Internet as people tried to determine if the story was true.
Today Angelou responded to the rumors.
Angelou said she was upset by the rumors after having family members from all over the world calling to check on her. Even her young grandson had her the rumors and was worried.
The rumors sparked after Angelou missed being at an awards show in LA.

I am a 13 year old 8grader about to graduate and i want to say that i beleive maya angelou is an excellent poet. Me and my mom are always quoting her poems. I love maya and all of her poems.
