Whether you love or hate him, sing his songs or ridicule them, you can’t deny the fact that Soulja Boy Tell Em is hot.

The 19-year-old rapper/producer emerged on the Internet scene in 2007 and has been making moves every since. Soulja Boy created his first hit single “Crank That (Soulja Boy),” a dance-themed song that he released on YouTube in March. By May, he had met producer Mr. Collipark and signed a deal to Interscope Records. “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” became a number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 list for seven consecutive weeks.

He then went on to release his first album, self titled “Soulja Boy Tell Em.” Since then Soulja Boy has been featured on several other songs and sparked many variations from other artists of the “Crank That” dance. The single went on to have 3 million digital downloads sold and received a “Best Rap Song” nomination at the 50th annual Grammy Awards.

He’s been critiqued for his young lyrics and many have questioned his true talent. Soulja Boy spoke with in 2008 and said that he was working to improve his skills as a lyricist within the next three or four years.

Yet, what makes Soulja Boy hot is his unexplainable ability to make teeny-bopper dance songs, establish a musical foothold and make a bank full of cash in less than one year. His jump to fame and fortune seems to be a fairly easy one. At 17, Soulja Boy was releasing a song from his Atlanta home on the Internet hoping for the best. Now at 19, he’s showing his LA home off to MTV Cribs, stepping on $2,000 rugs and sleeping on Gucci sheets.

We’re not saying he spits the most thought-provoking bars, but he definitely creates some catchy ones. There’s not a person under the age of 30 who didn’t “Crank That” at one point in time.

It’s because of this mass appeal that Soulja Boy is one to watch for. He’s on the rise and constantly in the spotlight. He has the potential to sell millions of albums and make millions of dollars. Keep an eye out, Soulja Boy Tell Em is hot.
