The LimeLight: Michael Vick Gets Reality

Michael Vick continues to make positive media headlines in attempts to repair his image and football career. Now Vick is set to take on the celebrity TV norm by having his own reality show. His show has been officially picked up by BET and titled “The Michael Vick Project.” The show will focus on Vick’s return to the NFL and how he deals with life after prison.  The producers stated, “the tone will be serious and somber as it focuses on his personal struggles since his release, including the strains on his relationships with his fiancée, Kijafa Frink, and his children. It will also revisit the federal prison in Leavenworth, Kan., where Vick spent 1 1/2 years behind bars and the Virginia property where he ran and financed a dogfighting ring.”

Michael Vick  spoke with the Los Angeles Times regarding the new show and stated, “I just want people to really get to know me as an individual. What I want to do is change the perception of me. I am a human being. I’ve made some mistakes in the past, and I wish it had never happened. But it’s not about how you fall, but about how you pick yourself up.”

This reality show can be a positive step in Vick’s image reformation, I just hope that Black Evil Televeision BET does not ruin it, like they have so many other shows.
