A fire alarm turned fatal early Sunday morning when Jasper Howard, a cornerback for the University of Connecticut’s football team, was stabbed to death.  Howard was involved in an altercation on campus which left his teammate, Brian Parker, injured as well.
Twenty-year old Howard was the first in his family to go to college; the Miami native and expectant father led his team to a victory against the Louisville Cardinals just hours before his death.  Police have not yet identified a suspect; Status Media will have more on this story as it develops.
