The LimeLight: Jamie Foxx On Plies & Fake Thugs

Jamie Foxx recently had a discussion on his Sirius Satellite radio channel “The Foxxhole” about rap music and thugs. Foxx tells the story of his first interaction with Plies on a former video shoot and how “real of a thug” Plies is from his rap image. Foxx and the other radio hosts go on to discuss why the image of rap always has to be “thug life” and why the imitation of gangster life by rappers is unwise. The discussion becomes very interesting as they debate why the fake thug image of rappers has reached the extreme,whether media or parents are at fault, and how the image of hip-hop transformed from the early 90’s to present.
