The Limelight: Tatted Up

Lil Wayne was spotted with a new tattoo this weekend, no suprise as he has too many tats to count or remember. This new tat is a collection of stars on the left side of his face. Baby decided to add another tat to his body also, a huge star on the top of his head. I understand tattoo’s are addictive, but at what point are you just inking your body and the tats no longer have meaning?. Not to mention, they’re skin will appear gravely sick in 20 years with all that ink on it. Peep Wayne and Birdman’s new tats below…

If Wayne and Baby’s tats weren’t enough, Young Money is such a powerhouse in the industry now, its influencing fans to go tattoo crazy. A super Nicki Minaj fan got a tattoo on her entire back, showing Minaj in a Wonder Woman costume. Foolery has no limits…

Overtime: Serena Gets A Record Fine For U.S. Open Outburst

by: Randi M.

$82,500 is  the fine Serena Williams is facing for the crazy (but funny) outburst that she had with a line judge at the U.S. Open. According to USA Today, if Williams has another “major offense” at any Grand Slam in the next two years, she could be suspended from participating in the U.S. Open. And if another offense happens, the tennis player could face up to a fine as high as $175,000 and wouldn’t be allowed to participate in the following U.S. Open. If Williams keeps up ”good behavior” for the next two years, the suspension will be lifted. Maybe Common can help her work on her temper.

By: Tiffani Haynes

Lil Wayne and Nivea welcomed a baby boy to each one’s growing family today. This bundle of joy will make four each for the two. Wayne now has three boys and one daughter: daughter Reginae by his ex-wife Antonia Carter, little DeWayne by some jumpoff (sorry, it’s the truth), three-month old son by Lauren London and now another son by Nivea. Nivea also has three other children by her ex-husband The Dream.

Looks like Reginae’s still the reigning princess.

Overtime: NJ Nets Fire Lawrence Frank

After an 0-16 start to this years’ season, the New Jersey Nets have fired head coach Lawrence Frank.

The Nets are one game shy of tying the NBA record for the most consecutive losses in a season.  New Jersey assistant coach, Tom Barrise will coach on Sunday when the Nets take on the Los Angeles Lakers.

Sources reported that franchise president, Rod Thorn will meet with staff on Monday to make a decision as to who will take on the job as the Nets interim coach.  Thorn must choose between current assistant coaches Barrise and John Loyer, and General Manager Kiki Vandeweghe.

Even when key players, most notably Devin Harris, returned to the lineup after recovering from injuries, that did little to improve the losing record; and that is what cost Frank his job.

A source close to the Nets franchise said that Thorn, “didn’t want Lawrence to have that record attached to his name.” Firing him would ultimately save his reputation.

Vandeweghe has wanted to fire Frank since last season, but Thorn has held off until now.

Frank took over for former Nets coach Byron Scott in 2004, winning his first 13 games and leading the team to three playoff appearances.  In six years as head coach, Frank as an overall record of 225-241.

This season would mark the final year of Frank’s contract, earning him a total of $4 million.
