The Limelight: 2 Stories,1 Issue-Chris & Rihanna Recap

Chris Brown and Rihanna continue their “similar” media rounds as they both had interviews yesterday. Chris Brown sat down with Sway on MTV to discuss the assault incident and how he is adjusting to life. His interview was not much we havent already heard from him as Brown has done one radio interview, and two TV interviews since the incident. I understand Chris, you apologized, I forgive you, no more interviews please. Check his interview below…

Four hours after Chris Brown’s interview, Rihanna spoke publicly for the first time with Diane Sawyer on ABC’s 20/20. She explained how they fell in love, the events of February 7, and her decisions for getting back with Chris after the incident. She also stated she never saw Breezy’s apology or heard any of his songs dedicated to her since the incident. Her interview was beautifully put together and her publicist/team is great. Many people are upset and claim she “threw Chris under the bus,” however, if you view the interview from a media standpoint, you have to understand Rihanna has millions of female fans, and fans often emulate their entire lives off celebrities actions. Rihanna’s explanation that she finally left Chris because of fear of a woman modeling her actions and ending up dead, was a smart answer. Check the full interview below…

There are two sides to every story, and Chris & Rihanna were both abusive in the relationship, in my eyes. However, her abuse on him is not an excuse for his assault, as I firmly believe a man should never place their hands on a woman unless threatened with a weapon. At the end of the day, it was a toxic relationship, and it is best they stay separate. They are both talented and hopefully their careers continue to prosper as they continue to grow older.
