The Limelight: Melanie Fiona’s Bridge

Melanie Fiona’s debut album “The Bridge” dropped today after several months of praise and positive reviews. The Guyanese singer was raised in Tornoto, Canada and burst onto the US charts in 2009 with her single “Give It To Me Right.” Melanie’s second single, “It Kills Me” was #34 on Billboard Urban charts. Her debut album offers something for fans of every genre. The songs “It Kills Me” and “Priceless” offer Melanie’s R&B, soulful side, while the track “Johnny” offers a more up-tempo feel. The track “You Stop My Heart” offers a 1950/60’s doo-wop vibe. Her album may not be “album of the year” to many people, but every song is refreshing and enjoyable due to her amazing vocal abilities. Check the vid below of Melanie on her “Subway Series” in London performing the songs “Ay Yo” and “Walk On By.”
