Rapper Clifford “T.I.” Harris got a huge Christmas present this year–his early release from prison.
T.I. was convicted of weapons charges after a federal sting caught him purchasing machine guns with silencers after a bodyguard outted him. T.I. began purchasing the guns after an altercation turned deadly for his best friend Philant Johnson in 2007.
The Grammy-nominated rapper accepted a plea agreement that allowed him to perform and do community service for a year before turning himself in to authorities in May. He was sentenced to a year and a day but was released today, his lawyer confirmed.
He was released a halfway house where he’ll spend the next three months. He’ll also serve 23 days of house arrest and perform almost 500 more hours of community service.
Welcome home, TIP…now stay outta trouble. Thanks, SMG.
