Class is in session once again, here is a peak at January 13th in history.

January 13, 1979- The YMCA files a libel suit against the Village People for their YMCA song. The YMCA song spent 26 weeks on the billboard top-100 and peaked at #2 on U.S. charts. The real YMCA company eventually decided to drop the lawsuit against the Village People.

January 13, 1990- Lawrence Douglas Wilder becomes the first black citizen to be elected governor of a U.S. state. He served a governor of Virginia from 1990 until 1994. Douglas later served as mayor of Richmond, Virginia from 2005 until 2009.

January 13, 1993- Super Bowl XXVII is held at the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California. The NFC champion Dallas Cowboys defeated the AFC champion Buffalo Bills 52-17. Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman was named super bowl MVP.
