The writer and reader in me is mourning.
Famous author J.D. Salinger passed away of natural causes today in his New Hampshire home.
The 91-year-old literary figure is most known for his novel, “Catcher in the Rye.” Salinger also had noted works that included “Nine Stories” (a collection of stories) and two compilations of stories, “Franny and Zooey” and “Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour: An Introduction.”
After publishing the 1951 “Catcher in the Rye” and his other pieces, Salinger seemed to fade into the background until he appeared on the cover of Time Magazine in 1961. After that appearance he was seldom seen outside of his home or visiting family in Florida.
Our condolences go to the Salinger family.
