Status Release: Check Out What Hits Stores This Week!

This week’s Status Release features a R&B diva, a tween heart-throb and an Academy Award winning actress.  Have a look at what hits the shelves on Tuesday March 23rd.

Monica, Still Standing: After finding success with her reality show, Still Standing on BET, Monica is back with her sixth studio album with the same name.  Known for hits like “Don’t Take it Personal” and “For You I Will”, the Atlanta native called on hometown producers Jermaine Dupri and Dallas Austin to pen tracks for her newest project.  Grammy-award winner Missy Elliot is the production talent behind the album’s lead single “Everything to Me.”

Justin Bieber, My World 2.0: Usher’s teen protegé and resident cutie pie Justin Bieber has taken the music world by storm since his debut single “One Time” hit the charts.  Since then, the Canadian-born teen has gained international prosperity and a fan base on Twitter that keeps him a trending topic for days on end.  The Ludacris featured “Baby” is the lead single from My World 2.0 and was written by Bieber with production help from The-Dream and Tricky Stewart.  Critics are already comparing the sixteen year-old to a young Justin Timberlake and his mentor, Usher. 

The Blind Side: Sandra Bullock swept the awards season with her performance in The Blind Side where she played Leigh Anne Tuohy who takes in Michael Oher, a foster child and current professional football player.  Based on a true story, Bullock was nominated and won her first Academy Award this year for her work.  The movie, which also starts Kathy Bates and country-singer Tim McGraw is set to be released on DVD and BlueRay on Tuesday, March 23rd.
